Chris is a writer and translator from Cwmbrân, living in Bridgend with his fiance. He is the recipient of The Richard Carne Playwriting Award, 2011 and a Peggy Ramsay Foundation grant.

 

His new play 'Cariad yn Oes y Gin' (Love in the Gin Age), produced by Theatr Bara Caws, will tour Wales from January 2023. 'Golygfeydd o'r Pla Du' (Scenes from a Plague), produced by Theatrau Sir Gar, will tour Wales from May 2023.

Recently, Chris researched and developed 'A Comedy', a riotous and challenging devised project on the nature of humour in a post-COVID world. 'Trwbl Mawr yn Tremyglyd' (Big Trouble in Tremyglyd), a play with songs by songwriter Mari Mathias, will receive its 2nd R&D in September 2022.

 

He also writes for radio. 'Gwen yr Arth Wen' (Gwen the Polar Bear), a monologue produced by BBC Radio Cymru and performed by Priya Hall, was presented in October 2021. His short story for children will form part of the Tic Toc series on the channel in May 2022.

 

He is also a translator and captionist, and works with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru on their innovative Sibrwd app, as well as captions for Frân Wen, National Theatre Wales, Torch Theatre and Dutch National Opera. He recently translated a play from West Yorkshire Playhouse for Theatr Iolo's 2022 'Playhouse' scheme.
